Proposed change to Uley services location – Information and Patient Questionnaire.
Cam and Uley Family Practice is in the process of proposing to both NHS England and NHS Gloucestershire Clinical Commissioning Group that services be moved from the building in Uley to the premises in Cam, because we can no longer run safe and effective services from the Uley building.
The first step in this process involves us, the Practice, carrying out a consultation with our patients – the questionnaire below is an important part of this. The output from this consultation will be amongst the information presented to NHS Gloucestershire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) for consideration as part of the formal decision making process. The CCG is responsible for making decisions about the provision of medical services for residents.
We know that this proposal may cause anxiety for some of our patients who use the local service in Uley. We outline in our longer document the reasons why we feel it is necessary for the safety of patients and of our staff to do this. We have thought long and hard over several years about this, and the recent COVID pandemic meant that we could not see patients in the small clinical space the Uley building provides.
These important issues around safety and infection prevention and control have led us to put forward the proposal on where we see our patients in future.
Our patients are our top priority and we want to ensure that we can continue to provide high quality care in the best possible facilities that support modern healthcare. We also want to ensure that our patients across Uley and Cam benefit from the best possible access to the full range of skills in the practice team, appointments and clinics.
We would like to reassure all our patients that under any changes, they would remain registered with us and that they are valued and respected. We know how helpful and skilled our dispensary and surgery staff are for local people and we would like to keep them all working with us. Should these proposals go ahead, we would seek to reassure all those affected how we would continue to provide appointments with GPs and nurses and ensure continuity of medicines provision and delivery, home visits and access to clinics as our plans progress.
Our longer discussion document is available to read under ‘Practice Information’.
We are now consulting on how to give all our patients the best high quality service we can provide and would like you to complete the following questionnaire to help us achieve this.
